Drops & Tears

Drops and Tears is an alchemical project featuring ancestral sounds
The cave man played Stalagmites in his rituals.
Today we find dead stalagmites because they were played directly with hands and not with sticks. Some experts think that the acidity from human sweat was the cause for the stalagmites to progressively die, due to continuous touch.

Antonio Testa has employed a high degree of sensitivity into the research and use of a variety of sticks like rubber, fabric, wool, in order to generate specific sounds more suitable for human listening. Some stalactites have been played using smaller pieces of the same old stalactites found in the cavern.
The whole album is a meditative and healing journey that takes the listener to a timeless space

The sounds have been collected using DAT and two microphones, then they have been modified and compressed in the studio, without major alteration from the originals in order to achieve the best analogic quality of sound
