about

Music to dream of a different world: not new age nor ambient. What Antonio Testa offers in the CD “Senza tempo nel tempo” (Timeless in time) (Tribe) is something that you might have never heard before : a journey of discovery across new soundscapes using instruments made by him with the materials that nature has to offer. Didjeridou, seed bells and shells, bone whistles, magnolia leaves, water gourds, bamboo flutes, stones, and, above all, the incredible sound of the stalagmites. The journey begins with “Jungle”: the sounds of a natural mother and stepmother, where the sense of mystery and danger reach ecstasy. “Sea Life” is lighter, and the flow of water between the shells rattles, takes you into a world where everything is muffled and slow, while in “Spirits” you can feel the magic that insinuates itself in small things, with the tools that are perfect imitation of animals voices. But the masterpiece from Timeless in Time is without a doubt the closing song “Stalagmite”, where the trickle of eternal flow plays in the background. In this song Antonio Testa plays the real stalagmites in a cave, just as if they were a normal xylophone. Music and magic thus blend in a circle full of mysterious charm that take us back to a primitive world where the voice of nature, not the one of man, is in the foreground. A musical journey not to be missed if you really aim to listen to something truly different and innovative.
